Trivia

  • Who's That Pokémon?: Swanna (US) Unfezant (Male Forme) (Japan)
  • This episode would be the only time Ash uses his two different Pokémon in a battle with Pikachu that he caught. Which is Tranquill and Krokorok other that his three starter Pokémon Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott.
  • This would be Ash's Krokorok's first on-screen battle since it's capture along with his Palpitoad.
  • A spectator for the Gym battle resembles Kenta from Beyblade: Metal Fusion.
  • This is the second time a person summons out a Krokorok in the gym battle and lost the first match since BW063: Battling the King of the Mines!. But the difference, is that the Driftveil Gym Leader Clay's Krokorok is not wearing a sunglasses like Ash's Krokorok.
  • This is the third time when Ash's Pokémon evolved during a gym battle. First, was his Sewaddle evolving into Swadloon in BW025: Battling For The Love of Bug-Types!. Second, is his Roggenrola evolving into Boldore in BW063: Battling the King of the Mines!. This time Ash's Tranquill evolved into Unfezant (Female Form).
  • It's true that Skyla said about Ash using Tranquill against her Unfezant when its not "evolved" yet, but when he returns it back and summons out to battle her Swanna, it did evolve.
  • This is the second time Ash looked up Unfezant on the Pokedex from the last episode but the difference is it says "females flying skills surpass that of male Unfezants" instead of saying in full paragraph sentence.
  • This is the second time Ash tells Pikachu to lure a gym leader's Pokémon in with Iron Tail. First, was Elesa's Tynamo in BW052: Dazzling the Nimbasa Gym! after Ash's Pikachu created a smoke path just for Tynamo to home in on him but its been hit straight back with Pikachu's Iron Tail with a final blow. This time he used it on Skyla's Unfezant as Ash tells Pikachu to finish him off with Electro Ball which causes him to be knocked out.
