Ash challenges Clay to a Gym Battle and Clay accepts, Ash's Roggenrola evolves into Boldore, Ash's Boldore learns Rock Smash and Rock Blast, Ash wins against Clay and earns the Quake Badge, Ash learns the next gym is in Mistralton City and decides to go there.
Once again, the time has finally come. After being denied twice, Ash finally gets his Gym Battle with Clay since he gave him a bag of Revival Herbs he requested. As a surprise, the Gym battlefield is located underground. Will Ash be able to beat the Gym Leader who calls himself the "King of the Mines"? Yes. And what is up with Roggenrola since he begins to glow while battling his Excadrill? That is because Roggenrola evolved into Boldore.
This is the second time Ash battled an Excadrill since BW044: The Club Battle Finale: A Heroes Outcome! during the battle tournament in Nimbasa Town with his Pikachu against Iris' Excadrill because he's a Ground/Steel type so electric type moves won't work and lost as his Snivy wound up losing to Clay's Excadrill, but when Ash sends out his Roggenrola with his toughness ability called Sturdy which now evolved into Boldore, he wins the final match which now earns him the Quake Badge.
