BW042: Cilan Versus Trip, Ash Versus Georgia!

Episode Plot

The battle of Cilan and Trip is about to begin. George comments Trip will have a serious battle due to the fact Cilan is the Gym leader. Trip sends Gurrdurr and Cilan sends Dwebble. Dwebble attacks with X-Scissors, but misses. Dwebble hides in its rock before Gurdurr attacks with DynamicPunch - the rock has been damaged. Dwebble gets out and uses Shell Smash, increasing its power. Gurrdur attacks with Stone Edge, but Dwebble attacks with Rock Slide, immobilising Gurrdurr. Gurrdurr is encased within the rocks and goes to get its weapon, but is defeated when Dwebble used Slash. Cilan wins the battle.

Bianca goes to find Zorua. However, it is Stephan vs. her. Bianca sends Minccino and Stephan his Zebstrika. Minccino tickles Zebstrika and attacks it with DoubleSlap. Zebstrika defeats Minccino with Shockwave. It is Iris vs. Jimmy Ray. Her Emolga attracts Watchog and defeats it using Hidden Power. Ash goes to the Pokémon Center, seeing Trip going away. Trip will not stay as he thinks his Pokémon couldn't learn anything from seeing. Ash goes to convince him, but Cilan says he should let him go, to follow his own path. During the night, the gang goes to eat dinner. Ash and Stephan make a competition to eat faster. Zorua transformed into Iris and Bianca goes to get Zorua (when she changes to Axew). Iris and Bianca argue if Axew is real or Zorua, while Zorua goes away. Bianca goes after her.Later, Dwebble fixes its rock. Georgia enters the room to make it clear she will win the battles ahead. Burgundy appears as well, wanting Cilan to lose.

The next day, the gang appears before the stadium and Georgia and Iris still want to battle, but haven't got the time. At the stadium, the screen displays the next competitors - Ash and Georgia will have to battle each other. Ash sends Snivy and Georgia her Pawniard. Snivy starts with Leaf Storm, but Pawniard cuts the leaves. Pawniard attacks with Metal Claw, hurting Snivy. Snivy uses Attract, but with no effect. Pawniard retaliates with Metal Head, and hits the ground. Snivy uses Vine Whip, putting it on Pawniard's head, blocking it. Snivy uses Vine Whip on Pawniard, hurting it. Snivy uses Leaf Blade, but hits the rock, enabling Pawniard to use its attacks. Pawniard uses Guillotine, showing its strength when the ground crashes. Snivy falls down, so Pawinard goes to use Guillotine again...

• This is the first time in the entire series Trip lost.
  • This is also the first time he lost to someone other than Ash.
  • This is the second time one of Ash's rivals lost to a gym leader. The first time that happened was when Gary lost to Giovanni.

• Georgia's Pawniard is confirmed female in this episode.
• This was the final episode broadcast in analogue TV in Japan due to a switch-over to digital signals in Japan 3 days after the Japanese airing.
