BW028: Scare at the Litwick Mansion!

Synopsis

On their way to Nimbasa City, Ash and co are caught in a rainstorm and stay in a mansion for shelter. While inside they encounter a Litwick, which seems playful at first but is later revealed to be bad news. Can Ash and friends save Team Rocket and themselves from the evil Litwick and their leader, Lampent?

Plot

The episode begins with Ash, Iris and Cilan going into a mansion because it started to rain, while they were going to Nimbasa City. Iris noticed that the mansion was in quite good shape, but with no people. The doors strangely closed themselves.

Team Rocket saw the gang via the camera link. James ordered his Yamask to persuade Litwicks to scare the gang, in hopes they (finally) get Ash's Pikachu. Back at the entrance, a table was beginning to float, "attacking" Iris. Cilan thought it was "just the wind", but Iris convinced him otherwise. More objects began to float, attacking the gang. The gang then went to another room where they are attacked by forks, spoons and plates!

The door was barred by a dresser, for some reason. Team Rocket didn't understand why the Litwicks had done that, so James orders his Yamask (again) to persuade the Litwicks. However, the flame on Litwicks' heads is much bigger. The gang went to another room where the clothes themselves float. Pikachu electrocutes the clothes, revealing several Litwicks. The Litwicks disappear, except one. Ash analyses it via Pokedex, but it mysteriously turns itself off during the analysis.

Ash holds the Litwick and with Iris and Cilan, they go to search the other Litwicks. However, Iris's Axew got lost in the process! The Litwick that Ash was holding unties itself and disappears. Ash then spots Team Rocket's Meowth being with some Litwicks, but they disappear as well.

Team Rocket saw the gang again, but for some reason they began to look pale as ever. They contacted Dr. Zager for the location of their base and the fact they saw Litwicks. Zager then told them that Litwicks drain the life force of the living beings before sending them to the Spirit Realm. Jessie and James went to look for Meowth and Yamask.

As they were looking for Axew, Pikachu got lost himself in the process. Cilan advises Ash to analyse the Litwicks again. Ash does what Cilan said, and the gang learns that Axew and Pikachu were taken in order for Litwicks to gain power! Team Rocket looks for their own Pokémon, and they saw a dark force coming to them! Ash, Iris and Cilan went to a room. They saw their own Pokémon and those of Team Rocket.  Jessie and James bang in the room (although very pale looking) and with Meowth they chant.

Although they were getting ready to fight, the Litwicks (with huge flames) and a lone Lampent appeared. The room began to shake, removing the stones that surrounded the room. James orders with his Yamask to attack with Shadow Ball, but the Lampent defended the Litwicks and itself. Cilan brought his Dwebble and ordered him to use X-Scissor move, but the Litwicks dodged. Jessie brought out her Woobat and Ash his Oshawott to attack, but the Litwicks defended.

Jessie and Cilan were almost sent to the Spirit World, but Ash and James saved them. Team Rocket and the gang formed a temporary alliance. Oshawott used the Water Gun, Woobat Air Slash, Yamask Shadow Ball and Dwebble the X-Scissor move to defeat the Litwicks and the Lampent. Finally, Pikachu attacked them with Electro Ball, sending them to Spirit World.

The walls of the room are reformed - the gag escaped the mansion. Iris was quite disappointed, as without the Litwicks the mansion was ruined (although she knew something was odd). Team Rocket went away using their jet packs. The episode ends with the gang going to a tree hollow to protect themselves from another rain.

Trivia

• Team Rocket acted as their comical selves in this episode. This happens again in the 14th movie.
• Though Team Rocket were in their old uniforms, they did not, comically, "blast off."
• This is so far the only truce between Team Rocket and Ash & co in the Black And White anime.
• The Litwick could evolve into Lampent due to the fact that it's knows the move Shadow Ball and TM's don't exist in the anime.
