Team Rocket vs. Team Plasma (Part 2) (Japanese: ロケット団ＶＳプラズマ団！（後編）) was supposed to be the 24th episode of Pokémon: Black & White.
After Team Plasma attacks Castelia City and steal the Meteonite from Team Rocket, Ash and co. follow them back to the Desert Resort where the Meteonite is unleashing unstable energy upon the city. To complicate matters further, Team Rocket is still intent on rolling out their plan and stopping Team Plasma. Will Ash and co. survive the attack and stop Team Rocket and Team Plasma?
Just as Giovanni is about to extort control over Unova from all the elite guests at the masquerade party in Castelia City, Team Plasma strikes. A helicopter carrying a Plasma Grunt and his Liepard appears outside the window, and Liepard uses Hyper Beam to blast the windows open. The Plasma agents who have infiltrated the party then make their move, knocking Giovanni down and stealing the Meteonite. They throw it out to the helicopter, which secures it in a claw-like device and, after the three agents join their comrade inside, flies out toward the Desert Resort.
Everything is in dissaray, Team Rocket escapes, and all the heroes reunite. While they don’t want this new criminal group to have the Meteonite, they’re unsure what to do about Pikachu. Suddenly, Pikachu begins to glow and runs away. He’s been affected by the Meteonite’s energy the same way the Venipede were, and is being drawn to it. It's speculated that this might also tie back to Pikachu's encounter with Zekrom on his and Ash's first day in Unova. Looker, Juniper, Ash, Iris and Cilan all get in the jeep and follow Pikachu. Meanwhile, Giovanni retreats from Unova accompanied by Pierce and Dr. Zager, but tells Jessie, James, and Meowth to go pursue Team Plasma and seize any chance possible to take back the Meteonite.
In the Desert Resort, the four Team Plasma agents land their helicopter and rendezvous with their captain. The five of them put the Meteonite in the sky so that it becomes a sun and it's effect on Pokemon can spread the more power it gains. They state that their hope is that it will “liberate” Pokemon from their trainers, and talk about doing it “in service of the Hero”. Team Rocket arrives on their jet packs and recites their motto to Team Plasma, and a battle begins between Team Plasma's Liepard and Jessie's Woobat.
The Meteonite’s power makes both Pokemon stronger and once Team Rocket note this, they try to increase its power more by blasting it with their dream energy-powered gun. However, the more the Meteonite’s powers are abused this way, the more unstable energy it begins to unleash. Professor Juniper notes that if this keeps up, Castelia City could be destroyed by this energy, and indeed the city begins to take damage from the blasts and tremors.
When the heroes at last arrive on the battle scene, Pikachu joins the fray and the fight becomes a three-way one, with Pikachu set on destroying the Meteonite, which neither evil team wants to see happen, so they order their Pokemon to launch attacks at Pikachu, all of which it evades. In the end, Ash and Pikachu are able to work together to destroy the Meteonite, with Pikachu latching onto the rock and giving it an electric charge that completely obliterates it. With the sun faded, all Pokemon effected by it return to normal. Having lost the key to their plans, Team Rocket retreats on their jet packs and Team Plasma in their chopper. When back at Castelia City, the heroes say their goodbyes to Looker, who is headed off to pursue Team Plasma, and to Juniper, who thanks them for their help as she departs for Nuvema Town. Next up is Ash’s battle with Burgh at the Castelia City Gym.
This episode was postponed indefinitely because of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
