BW020: Dancing With the Ducklett Trio!

Episode Plot

As Ash and co. are about to have lunch, a hole appears under Ash's feet and fall in. While figuring out what to do, Iris and Cilan are distracted by a Ducklett who steals Cilan's cookware. Meanwhile, as it turns out, Ash and Pikachu once again meet the Sunglasses Sandile, who apparently wants to battle them. Who will win this time and why are the Ducklett stealing things?

Plot

The episode begins with Ash eating Cilan's food. Everybody is having a good time until Cilan detects that a creature is stealing his dish. Oshawott, Scraggy and Axew run to find the thief. Ash and Pikachu come, but fall into a hole. Cilan brings Pansage out to dig (as the hole was closed by rocks) and Iris comes to track the Pokemon.

Ash and Pikachu fall down and see the Sandail with Sunglasses. Sandial wants to fight Pikachu and the battle starts. However, a Ducklett goes between them, attacking Sandail and taking his sunglasses. They track the Ducklett, but another flies and takes Ash's hat. While Pikachu attacks them, *another* Ducklett arrives! They dodge the attacks and make a counterstrike, defeating Ash, Pikachu and Sandail!

Meanwhile, Iris found the missing Pokemon, while Cilan has managed to dig through the hole. Ash finds the items the Ducklett were storing - Pikachu attacks, but wounds himself when he is trapped in an umbrella. Sandail removes the umbrella and they both attempt to defeat the Ducklett. While the Ducklett still evade Sandail's attacks, Pikachu can't use his electic attacks. Pikachu uses his power, learning in process Electro Ball move, defeating the Duckett and sending them away.

Ash takes his hat back, Sandail his sunglasses and Cilan his dish. They all come to the Pokemon Center. As a last resort, Sandail wants still to battle Pikachu. During a moment, Sandail evolves into a Krokorok. Despite this, Pikachu still wins the battle, sending Krokorok away. The episode ends with Ash, Cilan and Iris making their trip to their next city.

Trivia

• The title card music changes.
• This episode marks the first time Pikachu has learned a new move since the Kanto Battle Frontier saga.
• This is probably the second time Ash loses his hat to a Pokémon. The first being IL025: Primeape Goes Bananas when it was stolen by a Mankey.
• The animation for when a Pokemon evolves is changed, the Pokemon now glows blue and has yellow lines surrounding it.
• By learning Electro Ball, Pikachu replaces his strongest move, Volt Tackle.
