This Charizard is a Fire/Flying-type Pokémon owned by Ash.

Personality[]

While having a personality similar to that of its mainstream counterpart, Charizard does not take on Cross' personality when it evolves. He is then showed to still care about Cross after he protected him from a Pokémon's attack.

Biography[]

Much like his counterpart from the original series, Charmander was once owned by Cross until he abandoned him by making him sit and wait for him on a rock. During a rainstorm, Charmander was found by Ash, Verity, and Pikachu. Charmander became happy when he sees Cross again, but he refuses to take him back much to Ash and Verity's anger. He then grew weak due to the flame on his tail becoming smaller forcing Ash and Verity to find shelter as they attempt to protect him.

Luckily Ash and Verity manage to find a cave where they met Sorrel again. Sorrel then nursed Charmander back to health. After the storm passed, Charmander was back to full health. Ash then invites Charmander to come with him to which he accepts.

Charmander is later used in a battle against a Jigglypuff and won. As he ran towards Ash to celebrate, Charmander evolves into Charmeleon and hugs his trainer, jumping in his arms.

Later, Charmeleon faces his old trainer, Cross, and his Incineroar. At first, Charmeleon hits Incineroar with Flamethrower and then lifts it by the leg and damages his opponent with Seismic Toss, but then he goes in disadvantage after his Flamethrower is overpowered by Incineroar's, weakening the flame on his tail and making him unable to use the move again, making him cough smoke and small flames instead. Because of this, he is unable to withstand Incineroar's power: he is then hit by a Fire Fang followed by a Throat Chop that sends him against a rock wall. Despite his injuries, Charmeleon keeps battling, but when Ash orders him to use Flamethrower again, he is unable to do so, and as he coughs, Incineroar hits him with a powerful Cross Chop. Too injured to keep battling, he faints, losing the battle. This deeply affected Ash, and he ended up blaming his Charmeleon for the defeat, although he later apologized to him. Unfortunately as of The Power of Us to the present, it is currently unknown whether Ash has kept his Charizard on hand or what else has actually happened to him.
