Trivia

  • Archen is one of three fossil Pokémon that is also a bird, along with Aerodactyl and Archeops.
  • Archen is also one of five fossil Pokémon that start with the letter "A", along with Anorith, Armaldo, and yet again, Aerodactyl and Archeops.

Origin

Archen is based on Archaeopteryx, a prehistoric bird that supposedly lived in the Late Jurassic period and the first bird animal known, since it has claws on its wings.

Etymology

Archen's name is derived from Archaeopteryx or Archean (a geological eon).
