Biology
  +
Physiology
Anorith is based on an ancient ocean-dwelling creature from the pre-cambrian era called anomalocaris. It uses the fins on its back to propel itself through the seas. It has one pair of large eyes, and a pair of claws that eventually would become a Claw Fossil found in the Hoenn region. Small eyes also appear to stick out of its face.

Anime
  +
Anorith appears in the anime episode Where's Armaldo? where it, along with other prehistoric Pokémon, were being studied. Many Anorith appear in Wild In The Streets! where they were resurrected by scientists.

Trivia
Trivia
*Despite being based on water creatures, Anorith is not a Water-type. Anorith shares this trait with its evolution, Armaldo.
+
*Despite being based on water creatures, Anorith is not a Water-type.
  +
*Anorith and Armaldo are the only two Pokémon that are Bug-types with genders that are not in the Bug-egg group.

  +
Origin
  +
Anorith is based on en, a prehistoric marine arthropod believed to be an apex predator. It being called the "Old Shrimp" Pokémon despite Anomalocaris not even being a crustacean may come from the fact that Anomalocaris means "strange shrimp" in Greek.
  +
  +
Etymology
  +
Anorith may come from Anomalocaris and lith, Latin for stone.
  +
  +
Anopusu comes from Anomalocaris and -ops ("eye" or "face").

Anorith (Japanese: アノプス, HepburnAnopusu) (AN-no-rith[1]) is a Rock/Bug-type Fossil Pokémon introduced in Generation III that is capable of being revived from the Claw Fossil.

Biology

Physiology

Anorith is based on an ancient ocean-dwelling creature from the cambrian era called anomalocaris. It uses the fins on its back to propel itself through the seas. It has one pair of large eyes, and a pair of claws that eventually would become a Claw Fossil found in the Hoenn region. Small eyes also appear to stick out of its face. The eight wings along Anorith's body wave in sequence to propel it lives.

Natural abilities

Anorith has the abilities Swift Swim and Battle Armor. Battle Armor prevents Anorith from being stuck by critical hits, while Swift Swim increases Anorith's speed when it's raining. They are known to live in the prehistoric times of the Pokémon era, and they grab their prey on the sea floor with their sharp claws.

Habitat

It lives in the warm seas.

Evolution

Anorith evolves into Armaldo at level 40.

Appearances

Anime

Anorith appears in the anime episode Where's Armaldo? where it, along with other prehistoric Pokémon, were being studied. Many Anorith appear in Wild In The Streets! where they were resurrected by scientists.

Trivia

 • Despite being based on water creatures, Anorith is not a Water-type.

Origin

Anorith is based on Anomalocaris, a prehistoric marine arthropod believed to be an apex predator. It being called the "Old Shrimp" Pokémon despite Anomalocaris not even being a crustacean may come from the fact that Anomalocaris means "strange shrimp" in Greek.

Etymology

Anorith may come from Anomalocaris and lith, Latin for stone.

Anopusu comes from Anomalocaris and -ops ("eye" or "face").
