Absorb (Japanese:すいとる Absorb) is a damaging Grass-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

In Battle

Absorb is a nutrient-draining attack. The user's HP is restored by half the damage taken by the target. It is also affected by a rare item known as the Big Root by increasing the amount of HP that is drained. Big Root also has similar effects to Mega Drain and Giga Drain.
