Hello! Welcome to the Pokémon League! I'm Aaron of the Elite Four. It's good to meet you. Oh, I should explain, I'm a huge fan of bug Pokémon. Bug Pokémon are nasty-mean, and yet they're beautiful, too... Would you like to know why I take on challengers here, in this room? It's because I want to become perfect, just like my bug Pokémon! Ok! Let me take you on!

Aaron in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.

Aaron is a member of Sinnoh's Elite Four. He first appeared in Diamond and Pearl.

Appearance

He has green eyes and green hair, which has a long cowlick. He wears a black tank top with an orange zipper and line design, orange pants with a white belt, and white shoes with orange soles.

Personality

Aaron is an eager and spunky Trainer, with a vigorous passion for battling. He desires to perfect his Pokémon in both appearance and ability alike. Despite his determination, Aaron enjoys meeting new challengers and expressing his desires openly.

Etymology

The name Aaron comes from either "arachnid" (spiders, scorpions, ticks, mites, horseshoe crabs, etc.) or "arthropod" (insects, arachnids, myriapods, crustaceans, etc.).

His Japanese name, Ryō, may come from 蜋 (ryō, which can mean "praying mantis," "dung beetle," or just "insect") or 緑 (ryoku, "green," as the Bug-type is often associated with the color).
