If "a" is raised to either level 13 or level 42 and stops leveling up on either of those levels, the game may freeze up or the screen may go blank. Also, like the majority of other glitch pokémon, "a" will learn glitch moves such as "'''TM25'''" (Note that this is not the real TM25 "Thunder" but a glitch attack named TM25). Learning these attacks may crash the game.

There is also an issue with "a's" real name, which is composed of a lowercase "a" and several screens of glitch blocks. It may take a few confirm commands to scroll through the entirety of "a's" name, so it is best to give it a nickname if a player should catch it.

a

(ア a)

A glitch

Pokédex: #61
Type: Water
Base HP: 65
Base Attack: 65
Base Defense: 65
Base Special: 50
Base Speed: 90
First Appearance: Pokemon Red and Blue

a (ア A) is a Glitch Pokémon that only appears in the Red and Blue games.

Like other Glitch Pokémon, "a" shares its Pokédex number with another Pokémon, Poliwhirl. Because of this, "a" will learn the same moves as Poliwhirl (in addition to some glitch moves), and it is also a Water-Type just like Poliwhirl.

Appearance

"a's" appearance is similar to other Glitch Pokémon. It is a tall, rectangular block filled with scrambled bits of data, looking somewhat like a circuit board like MissingNo..

Effects

"a's"crappy effects are limited and do no damage to a saved game, with the exception of a few dumb ass rubbish things

If "a" is raised to either level 13 or level 42 and stops leveling up on either of those levels, the game may freeze up or the screen may go blank. Also, like the majority of other glitch pokémon, "a" will learn glitch moves such as "TM25" (Note that this is not the real TM25 "Thunder" but a glitch attack named shit bomb). Learning these attacks may crash the game.

There is also an issue with "a's" real name, which is composed of a lowercase "a" and several screens of glitch blocks. It may take a few confirm commands to scroll through the entirety of "a's" name, so it is best to give it a nickname if a player should catch it.

Location

"a" can not be obtained by normal means and requires the aid of a cheat device or the third method in the Mew Glitch. When using the third method in the Mew Glitch, a player must have a Pokémon with a Special stat of 192 on hand.

Trivia

  • "a's" Pokémon Yellow equivalent is the glitch pokémon 44Hy.
  • "a" shares the same number, base stats, and type with Poliwhirl.
  • In many cases, "a" has appeared when using memory hacking due to messed up data.
