Absol-ute Disaster (Japanese: アブソル!忍び寄るわざわいの影, HepburnAbsol! Creeping Shadow Of Disaster!!) is the 15th episode of Pokémon: Advanced Battle.

Episode Plot

The gang approaches a bridge. Everyone wants to cross it, so Pikachu comes first. However, the river is so powerful it destroyed the bridge and Pikachu falls down. Soon enough, Pikachu is seen to be hanging from the part of the bridge. Ash comes, but Pikachu swings and lands on his face. As he stands up, they see an Absol looking at him. The Pokédex identifies it as an "Disaster Pokémon", leaving the gang baffled if it was responsible for the destruction the bridge, as soon enough some men come to hurt it, but Absol goes up a near cliff. At the village they speak with two people, who say that when the Absol came from the mountain, the disaster soon followed the village - it is the third bridge that got destroyed.

Max cannot believe that Absol are responsible for the chaos, through the men think it is. They even hired some Absol hunters - they are Team Rocket in disguise. Team Rocket comes to calm everyone down, but they shut the door, saying that the plan is better than they anticipated. Meowth thinks if they captured Absol as well, the boss wouldn't be pleased as his day would be ruined. The man gather to wish good luck to the hunters. The hunters also would like to take the gang with them to get Pikachu... err, so they witness how Absol is being captured. A boy comes to protest. Nicky, the boy, is soon reminded that his brother Gordon went missing. Nicky runs away to find Absol and Gordon.

The gang goes with him, suspecting something might be wrong about this. The villagers think the hunters will have to go as well, but Team Rocket says they'll catch them along. Soon, they find themselves tired when walking on a slope. Ash asks why Gordon ran away, though Nicky says that Gordon did not run away. Gordon went to capture Absol and he returned, saying he found evidence that Absol aren't causing disasters, and then disappeared. The gang believes to what Nicky said and introduce themselves to him. Team Rocket arrives and they position themselves to be looking for Absol. Soon enough, they appear on a huge rock ball, saying that they followed a sign.

Max, Nicky and Pikachu come through a pass to Squaretop - a landmark. They yell for the others to come, though May, Ash and Brock have little clue how they ended up there already. Brock goes to rest, but when he touches a boulder, he fells water coming out from it. They spot that water comes through the rocks, even the ground. Soon, they spot Absol. Nicky believes Absol is not the one causing trouble, though soon the boulder where Team Rocket is on starts to move. Absol jumps and goes to them. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt on the ground to scare Absol. Max spots that the water is coming from the rock behind them and soon, the water becomes stronger, washing Max, Nicky and Pikachu away to a branch. Nicky is falling down, but Absol catches him in time. Afterwards, Max and Pikachu fall down as well, but Ash sends Swellow who Max. Soon, a Heracross catches Pikachu, too.

Nicky identifies the Heracross to be Gordon's, who arrives as well. Ash is grateful for saving his Pikachu. Gordon begins to tell his tale - he saw the Absol and sent Heracross, who attacked it. Absol dodged, but landed on edge and fell down, but Gordon took it using a rope. Absol soon departed away. Gordon learned that Absol are definitively not guilty of the destruction that followed the village and Absol do not come to humans, and, most importantly, they aren't aggressive - the only time they go to the villages if something is really important. Brock sees the water again - he asks Gordon if he took a look at the river. Gordon tells him that the river is much faster than before - Brock concludes that the water inside the rocks has spread out, and the pressure inside the rocks will make the water go out, flooding the village.

They realize that Absol wanted to warn them of the trouble. They hear the Absol hunters yelling for help. They go to help, but the water starts breaking out from the water, so they cannot help. They notice the Absol appeared, however, who uses Hyper Beam to block the water. It is not strong, so Gordon sends Heracross who uses Hidden Power to push the boulder. To help them out, Ash sends Corphish, Torkoal and Grovyle - they use Bullet Seed, BubbleBeam and Flamethrower. May sends her Pokémon as well - Skitty uses Blizzard, Beautifly Silver Wind, Combusken Fire Spin and Bulbasaur Petal Dance. Brock sens his as well - Ludicolo attacks with Bullet Seed and Mudkip with Water Gun. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt as well. The boulder is not moving, though Absol goes near to use the Hyper Beam. The boulder is pushed and the water is stopped - it split to two sides.

Gordon thanks Absol for the help. Team Rocket appears (without their disguises). Team Rocket goes to capture the Pokémon, but Absol attacks them using Razor Wind, blasting them off. The villagers apologize for the rudeness and Nicky thanks Max for listening to him. Gordon thanks the others, as the village would be flooded without them. May spots Absol again - they also thank it, who goes away.
