Changes: RS089: A Scare to Remember

A Scare to Remember is the 89th episode of the AG Series and the 363rd episode of the Pokémon Anime. It deals with Pikachu losing its memory before joining Team Rocket.

Synopsis

As Ash and his friends walk to Lilycove City, a tree comes crashing down in front of them--pushed over by Team Rocket in their newest giant robot! They have Pikachu in hand, when the robot begins to sink into the ground and crumple. It explodes, sending everyone flying.

The kids find themselves stuck in a tree--without Pikachu. Team Rocket is lost, and Meowth is nowhere to be found. Pikachu and Meowth wake up next to each other, and to Meowth's delight, Pikachu has no memory. Meowth convinces Pikachu that he was a part of Team Rocket and that the two of them are best friends.

While the pair makes their way back to Team Rocket's secret base, Meowth witnesses Pikachu saving a Zigzagoon, not being scared of a high ledge, and even sharing an apple with Meowth. Eventually they make it back to the base, and Meowth updates Jessie and James.

Ash and friends track down Pikachu to the cabin, where Team Rocket has Pikachu attack Ash. They try to get away in their balloon, but Ash grabs on. James orders Pikachu to use Thunderbolt, and they end up crashing. Ash and Pikachu land in the river and wash ashore. When they awake, Pikachu has his memory back.

Team Rocket lands in the water nearby, and Pikachu sends them blasting off with Thunderbolt, making them realize that he got his memory back. With Pikachu's memory back, Ash and friends continue on to Lilycove City.

-It starts off with Ash, May, Max, Brock, and Pikachu who are on their way to Lilicove City. As they were walking, they were in Team Rocket's trap. Team Rocket does their motto with Pikachu trapped. Something caused the machine to overheat and it caused everybody to blast off. Ash tried to catch Pikachu, but he missed and went flying away. Later, we see him, Max, May, and Brock in a tree. Ash was worried about Pikachu but was stuck in a tree. In another group, Jessie, James, and Wobbuffet crashed into a tree. Jessie and James were trying to figure out where they are. Jessie got mad when James thought they were lost. Cut to another scene where Pikachu had no idea where he is. When Meowth got up and saw Pikachu, he thought he wanted to fight him. He then think of Pikachu bringing him to Jessie and James and then he would be happy to give it to them so they can show the boss. We cut short to Jessie and James and then back to Pikachu and Meowth. They discover a Zigzagoon was behind Pikachu because Zigzagoon was scared. Then Beedrill came up and tried to sting Pikachu, Meowth, and Zigzagoon. Pikachu uses Thundershock to scare Beedrill away.
