Manectric Charge (Japanese: キンセツジムふたたび!VSライボルト!!, HepburnReturn To Mauville Gym! VS. Manectric) is the 19th episode of Pokémon: Advanced Challenge.

Episode Plot

The gang returns to Mauville City. Ash thinks they should eat something first, but Max spots a carnival, so him and Max go play. May wants to shop first, but Brock points her to a small shop of jewelry. The men advertising in Pokémon costumes are Team Rocket, actually. May sends Beautifly, Torchic and Skitty out for fun. Brock brings Mudkip, Lotad and Forretress as well. Ash sends Taillow, Torkoal, Treecko and Corphish. Torkoal is happy, so smog's everyone - Ash introduces Torkoal to other Pokémon. They greet it, so Torkoal smog Jessie and James (disguised).

Brock kicks the ball and scores 10 points and brags. Torkoal tries to play soccer as well - it stands up and kicks, but fails and falls down. The gang and Pokémon play other games as well. Meowth presses a button, chaos rampages - the Pokémon are captured in nets and cages. Team Rocket goes in the balloon with the Pokémon they stole. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, but the net is electric-proof. Forretress uses Rapid Spin, but with little effect. Torchic uses Ember, but the net is fire-proof as well. All Pokémon use their best attacks, but nothing sets them free.

Team Rocket flies away, but out of nowhere, Wattson, his Electrike and his assistant, Watt, come to rescue! Electrike uses Thunderwave, but the balloon is electric proof. Watt sends Ampharos and it uses Iron Tail, cutting the bag of the Pokémon inside. Electrike uses Thunderwave, Pikachu Thunder and Ampharos Thundershock, negating the electric-proof balloon and blasting them off. Electrike evolves into Manectric. Torkoal is happy and smogs everyone. Ash challenges Wattson to a battle - Torkoal vs. Manectric. Watt is wondering about Skitty and challenges May to a battle, which she accepts.

The gang arrives to the Gym and they see the entrance being different. As Ash goes in, Watt stops him, as the entrance is much more changed than he thinks. In any case, they arrive to the battlefield, so Skitty battles Ampharos. Skitty begins with DoubleSlap, and uses Tackle, hitting Watt's Ampharos. Ampahros retaliates with Thundershock, Skitty dodges the attack, but Ampharos redirects, hitting Skitty. Ampharos uses Iron Tail, hurting Skitty severely. Ampharos uses Thundershock, so Skitty uses Assist, so attacks with Quick Attack. Skitty uses DoubleSlap, defeating Ampharos.

Team Rocket arrives to the Mauville Gym and open the door to capture Pokémon. However, they soon find that they are on a roller coaster. Ash sends Torkoal, while Wattson his Manectric. Torkoal begins using Flamethrower. Manectric dodges and tackles Torkoal. Team Rocket continues going to the top and fall down. Manectric bites, but fails when Torkoal uses Iron Defense. Manectric uses Thnderwave, while Torkoal Overheat. Overheat hits Manectric, negating its attack. Team Rocket has arrived to a whirlpool - sinking.

Torkoal uses Overheat, hitting Manectric and follows with Flamethrower. Electric has charged up and uses Thunderwave, while Ash uses Overheat. Since it was the 3rd time Torkoal used Overheat, its attack is negated and it is stricken by Thunderwave, defeated. Team Rocket are still on the roller coaster, being tired from all the traps. Team Rocket go to a room with 3 Raikou. Jessie sends Seviper and James his Cacnea to capture Raikou.

Ash thanks Wattson for the battle. Watt mentions to May that next Competition is in Verdanturf Town, so Max sees on the PokéNav. The gang says goodbye to Watt and Wattson. Meanwhile, Seviper uses Poison Tail, Cacnea Needle Arm and Meowth Scratch. However, their heads fall off, revealing it to be machines. The machines explode and Team Rocket blasts off.
