A boy is polishing a stone in the lighthouse, but Team Rocket appears, capturing the child and taking the Light Stone. Team Rocket goes away in the balloon and the boy's sister comes and unties him. The gang is wandering in the fog, so [[Ash]] later trips and falls down. Max wonders where the light house is. Suddenly, a [[Jessie|woman]] asks when the fog is going away, to which Ash replies he does not know (subconsciously), but then hears Team Rocket talking.

[[James]] sends [[James' Cacnea|Cacnea]] and it uses Pin Missile, but Pikachu uses Iron Tail, deflecting the attack. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, making the Light Stone glow and Team Rocket blast off. When Pikachu goes off the stone, it turns off.

The boy's sister needs his help, despite the boy not having a battle in his life. The boy sends two Pokémon - Plusle and Minun. The Plusle and Minun cheer Magnemite, sending an electric surge into the sky and back to power Magnemite up. Magnemite is stronger than before.

The boy's sister states it is their stone, so Ash gives it back, but Team Rocket appears, demanding the stone. Team Rocket blasts off when Pikachu used Thunderbolt. The gang forgives the boy's sister for not trusting them. The gang went to the light house and the boy's sister explains that the stone is valuable because it is the source of light in the lighthouse.

The boy thinks Ash is the hero when he puts the jacket on, even mentioning to his sister Alyssa. The boy tells of the tale that a man got to the village with the Light stone, accompanied with an Electric Pokémon and when the village is in danger, the hero would return.

Thatcher, the boy, guide the gang through the village. He goes to get his grandpa and when Alyssa explains to grandpa what Thatcher thinks, even the old man is convinced. Thatcher tells Ash that he wants to battle someday, since Plusle and Minun help others out in need, so Ash will help him. Ash gives coordinates to Thatcher how to be a hero - he needs to understand his Pokémon, to smile (even in grim moments), to be quick and needs to build his own stamina!

Alyssa spots the fog again, so everybody need to go to the lighthouse. Alyssa's Magnemite powers the Stone up, but Ash and Thatcher notice a Zapdos machine in the sky - it's Team Rocket again. They cut the support poles, making the roof fall off the lighthouse. Magnemite uses Thunderbolt, but the attack is deflected.

Synopsis
