Synopsis

While exploring Dewford Island, Ash and friends notice a large cave and Max states that it's Granite Cave. They all enter and soon they fall into a pit trap courtesy of Team Rocket. Unfortunately they fall in as well and the two groups are mixed and separated. This time around, there are three groups: Males being Ash, Brock and James. Females being May and Jessie and the rest being Max, Pikachu and Meowth. Can these groups be brought back to order and who is in Granite Cave along with our heroes and villains?

Plot

The gang arrived to the Granite cave where they are supposed to meet Steven Stone, who researches the stones. So, they enter the cave. Team Rocket dig a hole to catch Ash's Pikachu, even if the hole was already present. While Ash tries to get Steven to come to them, Brock is putting stickers so they can foind their way out. Steven is excavating the stones, while his Aaron is digging. Steven gives it some food, and hopes for a better place to dig.

The gang arrives to a spot, but they fall into Team Rocket's hole. However, a crack is starting to spread, making everyone fall deeper into the hole. All split up in three different directions. In one direction, Max, Ash's Pikachu and Team Rocket's Meowth have fallen. Max realizes that the Granite Cave is a complex of tunnels, so they venture to higher levels. Meowth is angry when they are going away, but Max says that he said they should get out of the place in the first place.

In second direction, Jessie and May have fallen. However, the cave they fell into is much lower than the previous one, so they might climb their way out. In third direction, Brock, Ash and James have fallen. Ash and James want to battle each other for Pokemon, but they forget they are stuck into the rubble.

Max, Pikachu and Meowth search for Steven, who should get them out of the cave. Pikachu and Meowth smell some fresh air, so they go in that direction. Meanwhile, Steven searches for people who he heard screaming. Ash, Brock and James also venture the tunnels. When Ash asks why James shouldn't leave Jessie and Meowth, James builds up anger, but a lone Aron arrives. The Aaron produces a sound, making more Aron arrive and they chase Team Rocket.

Steven came to the point where everybody fell into the hole, so Steven and Aron go to find them. James, Ash and Brock run away from the Aron, finding a tunnel where Aarons cannot climb onto. Max, Pikachu and Meowth have gone to a waterfall, so they notice a root from which they can go to upper levels. May pushes Jessie, suddenly a Loudred has fallen and goes away, almost stomping on Jessie's head. The hole gets bigger, so Jessie falls down to May.

Steven sees the holes where Arons should be, so they need to go look for the prople. Max, Meowth and Pikachu climb the root, but Max gives up, He asks Meowth how can he speak, so Meowth makes a flashback where she met Meowzie and had to impress her, but in the end she got away. Max and Pikachu climb the root, making Meowth angry for not listening.

James, Brock and Ash have ventured to higher levels. Brock notices the marker, so they are near the entrance, but they fall into the hole again. Steven spots that the hole has become even bigger. Max, Meowth and Pikachu have climbed to the top where they smell fresh air. Pikachu smells someone's smell, so Max thinks it must be Steven. May and Jessie venture the tunnels and they spot a light so they run towards it, but they fall into the hole.

Ash, James and Brock are being chased by the Aron again, but Jessie and May fall onto them. Meowth, Max and Pikachu finally arrive to Steven, who will find the others. They arrive to a tunnel where they can hear footsteps. The footsteps are of Max and Mewoth's friends. Steven gives them directions where they will meet - to the waterfall. Max, Pikachu and Meowth grab onto Steven, who jumps to the other side.

Steven tries to calm the Aron down, but since it doesn't work, his Aron uses Roar to communicate with them. Everybody reunites, even if The members of Team Rocket stated they don't like each other, but they are happy to be reunited. In any case, Jessie brings her Seviper to a fight and James uses his Cacnea. Pikachu uses Quick Attack, but Steven stops the fight, saying he will be the one who will fight Team Rocket.

Steven brings his Aggron, it uses Hyper Beam, blasting Team Rocket out of the cave. Steven's Aron found a stone, so Steven takes it - it is a Fire Stone, making Steven pleased with the discovery. Steven guides the gang out to sea so Ash may train. Steven leaves in search for more stones.
