On A Wingull and a Prayer! (Japanese: ハギ老人とキャモメのピーコちゃん！, Hepburn: Old Man Briney and Peeko the Wingull!) is the 18th episode of Pokémon: Advanced.
Synopsis
May may be the new Misty but she is not as smart as she was. And she proves this when she, Ash, Brock and Max head to a pasta restaurant that May read up on the internet. The thing was May forgot to check the date and found that the place was closed. The date was exactly the same day, exactly the same month, ten years ago. Things go from bad to worse when they find the pier on the other side of town.May tries to find help and finds a kind sailor by the name of Mr. Briney. The gang is quite sad when they need a boat yet they have been lost in the city. Max has found the port, but it seems that it has been deserted. Ash is seriously disappointed when he cannot battle the Gym leader on Dewford Island soon. May proposes that she'll search for a boat, but she does not see any around.

May is thrilled that Briney owns a boat. Briney tells May that he was a sailor until people moved to new part of the docks. May leaves to bring her friends. Team Rocket is pleased so they plan to steal Pikachu, but Jessie thinks that the Wingull should be stolen as well. A man with sunglasses appears behind Briney. May tells her that Briney will take them to Dewford Island, but for some reason when they got to Briney, he heartily refuses to take them there. Briney turns to the man, addressing him as a part of Team Aqua, clarifying that he didn't want to put the children in danger.
The man demands Briney's boat, and threatens to hurt Peeko with his Crawdaunt (making the person the one who (almost) stole the test tubes from last episode), so Briney has no other choice. Officer Jenny appears before the gang, saying that the are that the gang is in is dangerous because the man who broke into Devon Corporation is here. Jenny made it clear that her men have secured Rustboro City so that the man shouldn't escape, although there is talk that he might meet the others.
Max wonders if the man knows about the security so that he might plan where to meet the others. The gang realizes that they are going to meet on the sea via a boat and that Briney and Peeko are in danger. They arrive to Briney's house, then they turn to the back side of the house. Briney warns them that it is a member of Team Aqua here, threatening him, with a Crawdaunt holding Peeko as hostage. Pikachu and Crawdaunt are about to enter the fight...
...but Team Rocket appears, throwing some smoke bombs. They take Peeko and Pikachu on the balloon. Brock brings his Lotad to the fight. Lotad uses Water Gun, but it fails to use it effectively, but it tries again, with better efficiency. The remote is broken, so Pikachu and Peeko fall down. Crawdaunt uses Bubble Beam, blasting Team Rocket away. The man escapes on the boat, forcing Briney to use his secret boat - a SS Wingull. Briney makes a flashback where he had no other people near him when the Wingull (named Peeko) appeared, befriending him, so he built the boat like him.
Pikachu and Ash climb to the top of the boat, when Crawdaunt uses Water Pulse to unbalance the ship. The Team Aqua member is near Triangle Rock where he's going to meet his other members. Pikachu uses Thunder to blast the rock. The ship turns, making the boat where the member of Team Aqua is fly on the other side. Briney catches Peeko, but a submarine appears, with the mark of Team Aqua! The man escapes, going into the submarine.
Back at Briney's house, Peeko eats Brock's food. However, Max and May starve as well, so after hearing that May searched for the Rustboro City's pasta restaurant, he calls his friend to make the food. Tomorrow, the gang is going to Dewford Island.
